Finding Your Peaceful Place

Where do you go to feel peaceful, mindful or safe? It might be in your bed, on a favorite nature trail, in the arms of someone you love, or as you sip a mug of hot tea.

For me it’s the ocean. I can physically feel my breathing slow down and my pulse steady when I focus on the water, watch it move, listen to it flow, and smell the sea air. I can also bring my senses to the ocean even when I’m not there. Our mind is powerful and can capture so much through our senses.

Give it a try. Close your eyes for a few minutes, take 3 deep breaths and see if you can bring yourself to that place of yours. How do you feel once you are there?
